At 00:30 on 8/8/00, fire broke out at 511 Stokes Ave in an occupied dwelling. Upon arrival of St. 37's Chief, 37-7, the front of the house was fully involved. East Stroudsburg, St. 21, & Stroudsburg, St. 38, were requested for Mutual Aid. It took these three companies about two hours to control the fire. A backhoe was called for to help the extensive overhaul that was needed. The front roof & 2nd floor had to be torn down to get all the hot spots. No one was injured & all the companies were available by mid morning.
