On August 7 around 2000 hours, Lebanon Emergency Management dispached a 34 box to 4 S. Fort Zellars Road, Mill Creek Township, in the Village of Newmanstown for a structure fire. The homeowner stated there was a fire in the hallway in her house. Dispatched on the box were

Neptune of Richland, Engine 33, Engine 33-1, and Squad 33
An officer arrived from 33 to find a single story ranch home with smoke showing from windows and the eves. Engine 34 arrived and went in service with a 1 3/4 handline. Engine 33-1 was next due and laid a 5" supply to Engine 34. A crew from 33 then pulled a second 1 3/4 hand line to extiguish the remaining fire. Schaefferstown Rescue 35 was dispatched for manpower since temperatures ranged from the 70s to 80s. Units remained on the scene for a few hours to continue overhaul. Lebanon County Fire Marshall is investigating, with peliminary reports pointing to a candle that caused the fire. Newmanstown Ambulance Co. 150 performed rehab for the firefighters.
