A fire broke out this morning at 619 N.Queen St.shortly before 10:00A.M.and spread to a total of five row homes by the time it was extinquished.The homes were all 2 1/2 story brick homes attached.There was over $115,000 in damage to the homes.The 16 on duty firefighters could not control the fire and over a period of time all three off duty shifts were recalled on extra alarms making it a General alarm with 40 city firefighters on the scene. Two trucks and three engines were on scene from the city and some personel from suburban volunteer companies assisted.Over 30 people were left homeless do to the fire.The fire wasn't put under control till the middle of the afternoon.A 6 year old girl playing with a lighter started the fire. Two occupants were treated for minor injuries.
