Cincinnati One-Alarm Fire

This is Cincinnati Fire Division's District Chief Keith Burkert reporting
Cincinnati firefighters responded to a one-alarm fire in Oakley on October
10, 2000 at 05:32 p.m. The location of the fire was 4047 Paxton Avenue.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered Mrs. Pasque Cippolone, an elderly
occupant, exiting a wood frame, bi-level dwelling. The dwelling had fire on
its first floor. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control.
Mrs. Cippolone, 91 years old, was transported to Good Sam Hospital for cuts
to the soles of her feet. She received these injuries as she exited the
structure, barefoot, walking through broken glass.
Twenty-seven firefighters were on the scene for two hours. Fire damage is
estimated at $50,000, and the cause is under investigation. The structure
suffered extensive damage to the first floor and its contents. Mrs.
Cippolone will relocate with relatives.
