On Friday Oct. 13, 2000 The Cecil County Fire Headquarters dispatched Singerly Fire Co., and Volunteer Fire Co. #1 of Chesapeake City for a working house fire at 105 Delaware Avenue in Elkton.

First to arrive was Assistant Chief Bill Graham. Chief Graham confirmed the job as heavy fire on the second floor of a 2 1/2 story wood frame dwelling.

Rescue 371 and IV391 were available returning from a previous MVA, and made the response. Upon arrival of Engine 312 the combined crews engaged an aggressive attack with two, inch and three quarter handlines and were able to hold the fire to the area of origin.

A Ladder company assist was requested bringing Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder Co. of Newark De to the scene for ventialtion work.

The blaze was placed under control at 1544 hours, aand is under investigation by the MSFMO.
