At 1201 hours on Thursday, October 26, The Cecil County Fire Headquarters alerted the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun, MD (Stations 8 & 18), and Singerly Fire Company of Elkton, MD (Stations 3, 13, and 14), and the Union Fire Company #1 of Oxford, PA (Station 21) for a working house fire at 2361 Telegraph Road in the Calvert Section of Cecil County, Maryland.
Fire Chief 881 arrived at 1206 hours reporting a 1.5 story house with heavy fire showing from the rear and the roof. Engine 814 arrived at 1208 hours and made an interior attack with an 1.75" handline. Engine 812 arrived and placed a second 1.75" handline in service on the 2nd floor. Tanker 21 provided water supply to the engines. The fire was placed under control at 1228 hours. The North East Fire Company (Station 4) was alerted for a tanker and truck. The Water Witch Fire Company of Port Deposit, MD (Stations 7, 72, and 73) was alerted for an air unit to fill SCBAs. Rehab was established by Medic 893 and Ambulance 21-2. The were no injuries reported. The blaze is under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.
The final unit cleared the scene 1547 hours.
