At approximately 0019 hours on November 1, the Carman Fire Department, Rotterdam, NY was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire. First arriving units found a fully involved attached garage with extension inside the house and extension to an attached garage, the number 2 exposure. An aggresive interior attack was made on the original fire building, with the next due truck attacking the exposure and vetilating the original fire building. Mutual aid was requested to the scene from Rotterdam Fire Dist. 2, with an engine to go to work and a rescue for RIT. Both fires were brought under control in about 20 minutes with full extinguishment taking about 45 minutes. No injuries were reported to civilians or firefightes. One family was temporarily displaced and one dog died in the fire, while one was rescued and given oxygen by ems crews on the scene. In all, it took 3 engines, 2 rescues, and 1 truck comapny, while the White Eagle and Rotterdam Ambulances were standing by at the scene.
