----111900: At 1410 hours box 78, Schuylkill Ave and W.Buttonwood street was transmitted for a reported dwelling fire at 443 Miltimore street. Companies arrived at 1412 hours to find smoke inside the 2&1/2 story M.O.R. dwelling. The smoke was traced to a basement fire next door at 445 Miltimore street. The fire was brought under control with a 1&3/4-inch line by 1434 hours. No injuries were reported in the fire which caused $5,000 damage. An ivestigation into the cause is continuing. At 2224 hours box 141, 5th and Franklin streets was transmitted for a dwelling fire at 514 Chestnut street. Companies arrived at 2226 hours to find fire showing 1st floor front of a 3 story M.O.R. vacant dwelling. The fire was brought under control by 2241 hours with a 1&3/4-inch line. No injuries were reported in the fire which has been labeled suspicious. A damage estimate was unavailable. Companies assigned: E3,1,5,Sn1,L1,R1,Medic1, C-2 & E13(safety company).
----112200: At 1839 hours box 323, 2nd and Washington streets was transmitted for a reported building fire in the 100 block of Pear street. Companies arrived at 1841 hours to find nothing evident. After being advised by dispatchers that additional calls were reporting the fire 3 blocks north of the original location, companies arrived at 1843 hours to find a 2&1/2 story E.O.R. vacant dwelling at 468 Pear street fully involved, with fire spreading into exposure 2 (a similar type building). Companies went in service with a deluge gun to knock down heavy fire conditions and used numerous 1&3/4-inch lines to bring the fire under control by 1930 hours. No injuries were reported and a damage estimate was unavailable. Officials have labeled the fire arson. The building had been damaged by previous smaller fires in recent years. ----112600: At 1045 hours box 74, Schuylkill Ave. and W.Greenwich street was transmitted for a reported garage fire in the area of Johnson and W.Green streets. Companies arrived at 1048 hours to find a 1 story frame garage to the rear of 323 W.Green street fully involved. The fire was brought under control by 1056 hours with a 1&3/4-inch line. At 1302 hours box 62, 8th and Greenwich streets was transmitted for a building fire at 501 N. 8th street. Companies arrrived at 1304 hours to find fire in the walls of a 3 story E.O.R. mixed occupancy building (apartments above a store). The fire was brought under control by 1322 hours.
