A Durham family has had a rough start to the Christmas holiday. At 1021 hrs., a house fire was dispatched at 622 Berwyn Ave., called in by a county medic unit, while responding to a medical call just a couple blocks away. E-7 was first to arrive, finding a front bedroom well involved. An aggressive attack was made on the single story, frame house, with quick knock down. All amounted to a basic "room and contents" fire with extensive smoke and heat damage throughout. No injuries to firefighters or civilians. Alarm assignment: E-7, E-9, E-2, L-2, S-1, MS-1, Batt. 2. E-9, usually first due, was tied up awaiting the medic's arrival to the medical call. They quickly cleared and responded to the house fire. Family is with local relatives through the holiday.

**CORRECTION** Add E-14 on the alarm assignment. They were dispatched as E-9's replacement and were not cancelled on the response.
