Wednesday night(12-27), just before 7:30 p.m. Waco firefighters were dispatched to a reported fire on the 5th floor of the 12 story Hilton Hotel in downtown Waco. Engines 1,3,4,6, Aerial 1, Quint 7, Rescue 2, and Chief 3 responded. upon arrival units accessed the 5th floor, hooking into a standpipe on the 4th floor stairwell. The fire was quickly controlled, heavily damging 1 room. Smoke damage throughout the 5th floor, and water damage to the 4th floor.Engine 5, and Chief 2 were special called for the working Hi-Rise incident.Believed to be started by an air conditioner in the room. No injuries.
Just after Midnight Engines 6,1,4, Quint 7, Rescue 2, and Chief 3 responded to a reported house fire at N. 12th St./Bosque Blvd. Upon arrival Engine 6 found fire showing from a front room of a 1 story vacant house. The suspicious fire was quickly controlled by Engine 6, Rescue 2, and Chief 3. Other units were quickly placed back in service.Gasoline was found spread throughout the house.
