SF: STRUCTURE FIRE
On Saturday, January 13, 2001, at 0936 hours, fourteen companies of Los Angeles Firefighters, three LAFD Rescue Ambulances, and three Battalion Command Teams, under the direction of Assistant Chief Terry Manning, responded to a Greater Alarm Structure Fire at 1541 North Vine Street in the Hollywood area. First companies on the scene reported a one-story, 125’ x 75’ “vacant studio” with nothing showing. Firefighters using forcible entry tools made entry into the boarded up structure and immediately encountered heavy smoke and fire inside. Firefighters using handlines aggressively attacked the fire and extinguished it in one-hour and twenty-six minutes. One civilian suffered minor smoke inhalation and was treated on the scene and released. No other injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is listed as suspicious and under investigation. Due to previous fire in the structure there is no dollar loss.
