Crozet assist with woods fire
Stoneypoint Fire Dept. was alerted of a woods fire on Lonesome Mtn. Rd.(Rt.610)in Albemarle County Monday afternoon. Upon arrival, Units found that they had a woods fire involving approx. 5 acres caused from contractors burning brush piles which embers arose and started the woods fire. Soon after, Sta. 6 command(Capt. Cornell) requested a county wide response for manpower. Crozet(Sta. 5) responded with Brush 55(2 man crew). Brush 55 was assigned the west flank of the fire and was asked to follow the dozers in and wet down the fire lines. Companies on the scene; StoneyPoint(6),Crozet(5),Earlysville(4),Seminole Trail(8),East Rivanna(2),Charlottesville(E-1),Forestry 1 and 2 of the Dept. of Forestry with a dozer, Albemarle Co. Fire/Rescue Office FM12,FM14,PREV.13.
