Friday, 06-15-01, JPFD responded to a two vehicle accident at 2250hrs on NC Hwy 49. Arriving units found the passenger of one vehicle pinned in and severely injured. Three others from the same vehicle, including a 3 week old baby and a toddler were transported to NEMC with minor injuries. Two persons from the other vehicle (SUV) refused treatment. Extrication was completed in under 25 minutes by members of JPFD and Harrisburg Fire & Rescue. They were assisted by Cabarrus County Rescue Squad and Cabbarrus EMS. The pinned victim was flown by Med Center Air to CMC where he died from his injuries.
