Units from Dale City Volunteer Fire Department, Dumfries-Triangle Volunteer Fire Department and the Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lakeridge Volunteer Fire Deparment responded to a report of a fire in a townhouse yesterday afternoon. E18 (Princedale) arrived onscene with smoke showing from side 3. The fire was contained to a deck with extension into the side 4 exposure. The fire was brought under control in 10 minutes. One firefighter suffered heat exhaustion, but was not transported.

The fire cause was determined to be ashes from a charcoal grill left in a trash can on the deck.
