JULY 31 2001. ENG 3 RESPONDED FOR A MAN STUCK IN A TREE. UPON ARRIVAL ENG 3 FOUND A MAN THAT WAS TRIMMING A TREE AND HIS SAFETY LINE WAS ENTANGLED AND HE COULD NOT LET HIMSELF DOWN. THE VICTIM AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO FREE HIMSELF HAD BECOME EXHAUSTED AND SUMMONED FOR SOMEONE TO CALL 911. ENG 3 PLACED IN SERVICE ITS 50FT BOOM AND TRIED TO REACH THE VICTIM. THE LADDER WAS TO SHORT AND LADDER 1 FROM DOWNTOWN RESPONDED TO THE SCENE. TWO FIREFIGHTERS WERE PLACED IN THE TREE TO REASURE THE VICTIM TIL THE 110FT LADDER ARRIVED. UPON ARRIVAL OF LADDER 1 THE VICTIM WAS SECURED TO ANOTHER SAFETY LINE AND WAS LOWERED TO THE GROUND WITH NO MAJOR INJURIES.
A GREAT JOB BY THESE CREWS DESPITE HAVING TO OVER COME SO MANY OBSTACLES.
