On 8-2-01, At 0627 hrs the West Pittston Fire Dept. was dispatched to a working structure fire at 310 Franklin St. Upon Arrival of Ladder 153, It was found that two structures were well involved. Through a quick attack on both homes, the fire was kept to the second floor of 312 Franklin St. and the first floor of 310 Franklin St. West Pittston Fire Chief Janczewski was the Incident Command, with Asst. Chief Slater as operations and Avoca Chief VanLuvender as Safety. The Fire was kept to a single box with a special assignment of Exeter Fire Dept. After the fire was out, Ladder 153 remained on scene for several hours assisting Pa State Fire Marshall with the investigation.
