Sand Springs, OK High Angle Rescue
Vehicle into Building Makes for a Tough Rescue
Sand Springs, OK - September 29, 2001 - 1800hrs.
Sand Springs Fire responded to 7800 West 51st Street for a Motor Vehicle Accident. Engine 1 and Rescue arrived on scene to find a Vehicle vs. Building. The vehicle ran off of 51st Street into the upper story of the building. Berryhill Engine 2 was request by Command.
EMSA Unit 119 arrived on scene few minutes later.
After determining that this was a high angle rescue. Command requested from dispatch that Tulsa send their rescue to assist. Rescue 4 Task Force along with Car 641 responded to the scene.
EMSA Unit 119 request Helo for patient. Berryhill Engine 2 set up the Landing Zone. Rescue 4 Crew worked on extricating the patient.
After One and half hours, the patient was extricated from the vehicle and flown by Air Evac to St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating what cause the accident.
