We are currently debating between the HD-4060P and MD-3066P
Does anyone have any feedback, good-bad-indifferent on the Allison MD-3066P automatic transmission ?
If you have one, how old is it and how many miles has it seen ?

Either Cummins ISC 350 h.p. or ISM 380 h.p.

We have a tanker and a pumper with 3060 transmissions, and what we found out was that they wouldn't take the torque from the motor. What we did this last time is we went with a M-11 cummins engine with the 4060,and ew are very pleased with the performance. We ordered our new tanker and our new heavy rescue with same set-up. Now we have 400hp. All these trucks are freightliners.

W Cary,
check with your manif. as to delivery of each trans. We have an engine currently on order with a MD 3060 and they are anticipating delivery of the chassie to the plant early next year. Freightliner is the chassie we chose but now that the contract has been awarded, they claim that the tranny shortage is holding delivery up
good luck
