APPRATUS TIRES

IS ANY ONE ELSE OUT THERE EXPERINCING A PROBLEM GETTING APPARATUS TIRES (12x22.5), ESPECIALY MICHELINS, AND GOODYEARS. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THERE IS A NATIONAL BACKORDER, WE HAVE BEEN WAITING SINCE THE FIRST WEEK OF OCT 1999. THEY TELL US THAT FIRE DEPTS HAVE PRIORITY?

Yes we have problems getting both brands of tires. They only make this size about once a year. And they only are used for fire app., garbage trucks and school buses from what I am told. At our dept. we bought enough tires to outfit an entire pumper. We leave them on the "shelf" for when we need them. When it is time to use them we use the "shelf" models and order more to replace those.
