It is with our deepest regret and great sorrow to report the LOD death of Captain Stephen A. Champlin, of the Fort Lewis Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local F-283, Fort Lewis, Washington. Brother Champlin, 50, passed away Sunday, December 26th, 1999, of Liver Cancer. He was a 27-year veteran of the department.
A public memorial service will be at held at Fort Lewis, Thursday, December 30th at 1330 at the Four Chaplains Sanctuary, 9120 Transmission Line Road. The service will be followed by a fire apparatus procession. All area fire fighters and union representatives are asked to please attend and join us in honoring our fallen Brother.

On behalf of the Defense Supply Center Richmond(VA) Fire Department, I wish to express my department sympathies and condolences with the passing of Firefighter Champlin. Truely a sad day for the federal fire service.
