firefighter William L. Thompson with the Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Department died Friday January,12th 2001 near the community of ringos mills in Fleming County while responding to a grass fire.The tanker inwhich he was driving overturned.My throughts and prayers are with the Thompson family and the firefighters in Hillsboro.
HEROISM
Firefighting is a hazardous occupation.It is dangerous on the face of it,tacking a burning building.(or responding to a call)The risk are plain....
Consequently,when a man becomes a fireman,his act of bravery has already been accomplished.Everything else is daily duty.
