On behalf of the City of Boston Fire Department and myself, I extend our deepest sympathies to the entire Houston Fire Department and to the families and friends of Firefighters Lewis Mayo,III and Kimberly Smith. They were obviously dedicated Firefighters and great people. We, in the Boston FD know all too well, the pain of LODDs. We share your grief and we support all of you with our fire service bond of love.
The Bible verse John 15:13 says, "No greater love has a man (or a woman)that he (she) lay down his (her) life for a friend. Lewis and Kimberly epitomized that Bible verse. They are surely in heaven. As they are now surrounded in the Father's love so are all of you by our love on earth.
District Fire Chief
