    Unhappy Fayettville LODD

It seems that tragedy has struck another department, this time in Fayettville, NC when a firefighter was killed when the ladder truck he was driving was struck by a train. On behalf of the Southwest VFD in Jacksonville, NC I would like to send my sincere condolences, and to let the family know they are not alone.

I am David Sharps neice. I just
want to say THANK YOU to everyone.
David was a very loving and unique
person. He was a very devoted
person, not only to the Fayetville
Fire dept. but to his family. He
was the type of person that would
give you the shirt off of his back
to help someone. David was not only
a devoted husband but also a
devoted son. He did everything for
    his mother-paying bills, buying
    groceries, doctor visits etc. I
know I will never feel his shoes in
her eyes but I am going to try real
hard to care for her. Davids wife
Dawn is pregnant with their first
child. I had the great opurtunity
to spend time with David and Dawn
the night before he past away. He
was so proud that he was going to
be a daddy you could see it in him.
But not to worry Bubba that baby is
going to have so much love. This
baby is going to be a angel from
God brought to us so we can have
    memories of you forever.
David was not only a uncle to me,
he was a brother and sometimes even
a fatherfigure! I will miss him
dearly. But, I know he has went to
heaven and is looking out for all
    of us.
David was a unique person as Im
    sure all his fellow firefighters
are aware of. I guess I should say
David would tell it like it is, no
beating around the bush. He was a
strait up kind of guy! If you
walked up to David and started
talkin about sports you would have
a friend forever! He loved sports,
especially golf. I can see him
right now in his Greg Norman golf
    shirt.
I just want to say thank you for
all of your thoughts and prayers.
You dont know how much this means
to my family. David (BUBBA) Sharp
will be greatly missed. Thank You
to Fayetville Fire Dept. for all
the prayers and love. Also thank
you to Bryan of Fayetville Fire.
He has been with our family every
step of the way. From handed out
tissues to giving us a shoulder to
cry on. With all te food coming in,
Bryan has helped keep the supply of
chicken down> So if Bryan comes
back to the station with wings on
you know why. Its either all the
chicken he has consumed in the last
3 days or its because he has been a
    true angel to us.

    THANK YOU WITH LOVE
