My condolences to the family, close friends & the crew of Lt Merrel. Even from over the water this loss can be felt.
I am sure that he will greatly be missed by all those who had the pleasure to know him. He will always be with you, in your memories. Never let that go.

The members of the Highland, Indiana Fire Department in Northwest Indiana send our deepest sympathy to the family of Lt. Merrell, Truck #24 and the Chicago Fire Department.
