Although it's tragic to lose fellow firefighters, it truly hits home when your brothers & sisters perish so close to home. British Columbia's forestry firefighters have worked hand in hand with Washington State and the loss is felt across the Province. God bless the families, and firefighters who paid the ultimate price. Washington State sleeps well at night knowing that dedicated firefighters are protecting them. Take care all, be safe.

It is allways sad to hear of a ff losing his\her life while in the line of duty, but the loss of four in the same incedent is shocking. Especially so close to home. It just serves to remind us that at anytime we go to face the dragon, we may be answering our last call. On behalf of my family and me I wish to send my deepest, heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of those lost in the 30 mile fire. God speed and may you rest in peace.

    Brother When You Weep . . .

Brother when you weep for me
Remember that it was meant to be
Lay me down and when you leave
Remember I'll be at your sleeve
In every dark and choking hall
I'll be there as you slowly crawl
On every roof in driving snow
I'll hold your coat and you will know
In cellars hot with searing heat
At windows where a gate you meet
In closets where young children hide
You know I'll be there at your side
The house from which I now respond
    Is overstaffed with heroes gone
Men who answered one last bell
Did the job and did it well
    As firemen we understand
That death's a card dealt in our hand
A card we hope we never play
But one we hold there anyway
That card is something we ignore
As we crawl across a weakened floor
For we know that we're the only prayer
For anyone that might be there
So remember as you wipe your tears
The joy I knew throughout the years
As I did the job I loved to do
I pray that thought will see you through

Once again we have lost our dear brothers and sisters to the animal. Our heartfelt prayers and condolences go out to the families, friends, and co-workers of the fallen. It is our hope that God will give you comfort and bless you in this time of grief and loss. Know that we mourn and grieve with you all, and even though we did not know them, we still feel loss; loss of members of our Firefighting family. We all know the risks we take and the dangers we face, but still we DO THE JOB. They are all heroes, and their sacrifice will not soon be forgotten. Be safe out there all, and be proud of them, for they gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. God bless them.

Being a 20-year-old volunteer firefighter/EMT, I am truly saddened by the loss of these four brave firefighters, especially because of their closeness in age to myself. It is indeed tragic that these four young lives were cut so short. My heartfelt sympathies are extended to all that mourn.
