Illinois Firefighter Killed Responding to Accident

In an unfortunate twist of fate, a former assistant chief of the Ludlow
Volunteer Fire Department (Ludlow, Ill.) was killed in a single-vehicle auto
accident, while responding to another single-vehicle auto accident early
    Sunday morning.
Donald Myrick, 49, was killed at 5 a.m. Sunday when his truck rolled over in
the driveway of his home, said Chief Pat Quinlan, of the Ludlow Volunteer
    Fire Department.

Here I sit, once again having the sad duty of extending condolences over the death of a brother. It is with a heavy heart that I offer the thoughts and prayers of both myself and our membership to the family and fellow firefighters of Donald Myrick. Let us all pause to remember this fallen brother.

It is always sad when one has to write these because it means that another one of our brothers has fallen. So, on behalf of the Ridgeway Dist. Fire Department, Engine Company 15, we extend our deepest sympathy and prayers to the family, friends, and the Ludlow Fire Department. May God watch over you and give you comfort during this time.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can never find the right words when it comes to telling someone that I am sorry that they've lost someone. Please know that I am with you in prayer and spirit as you mourn the loss of your Assistant Chief. God bless you all!
