Default A Tribute To Our Fallen Heroes

My husband and I are independent fire videographers in Chicago, so we feel a close and kindred spirit with all firefighters. I have written this tribute in honor of all the FDNY firefighters (and others) who have perished in the line of duty.

A TRIBUTE TO ALL THE FALLEN HEROES

Our world is thrown into trouble
People lays amidst ruin and rubble
Our world, safe and secure, is now a bursted bubble
    Rescuers respond on the double.

Through darkened shadows and still light
Charging toward the destruction at their full height
The might warriors, our firefighters, come in full flight
To fight the enemy, with all their power and might.

Tragedy beyond comprehension shows it face
Firefighters know that they hold, in this life, a special place
That they carry with them, from God, a special grace
And that no matter their fate, their lives have not been laid to waste.

In the end, oh my God, so many dead
From all the wreckage of lives no more, no one said a firefighter fled
For them, our hearts cried and bled and
    All that can be said

When a moment no longer, could they fight the beast
When their beating hearts finally ceased
Through almighty God, our firefighters did find their peace.

PLAY LOUD FOR BEST RESULTS. It is my deepest desire to get this song into the hands of the victim's, families, firefighters, policemen, rescue workers, military and the world.
