    Default Standard Level of Response

    Does anyone have a SOP for a standard level call up i.e. a level 1 response gets certain equipment, Level 2 response gets other exuipment etc????????

    IN OUR CENTER WITH HAVE A 5 MIN REPLACEMENT POLICY FOR EMS AND A 6 MIN REPLACEMENT POLICY FOR FIRE UNITS.

    HOW IT WORKS IF THE EMS SERVICE DUE FOR AN AREA DOES NOT ANSWER THE RADIO IN 5 MIN THEN THEY ARE REPLACED WITH THE NEXT DUE UNIT FOR THAT AREA - IF THEY DO ANSWER IN WITHIN 5 MIN OF DISPATCH THEN THEY HAVE 10 MIN TO RESPOND OR BE REPLACED. FOR FIRE UNITS IT IS THE SAME EXCEPT THEY HAVE TO ANSWER UP OR HAVE SOMEONE ACK THE CALL IN 6 MINUTES.

    THE MAJORITY OF THE AMBULANCE SERVICES IN OUR COUNTY HAVE GONE PAID TO ELIMINATE THIS PROBLEM - SOME EMS SERVICES HAVE FOLDED BECAUSE OF THIS BUT THE QUALITY OF PT CARE AND RESPONSE TIME HAS GREATLY IMPROVED
