    Default Lights on or off?

When enroute to the hospital with a stable patient,do the lights stay on?The Pa vehicle code says its up to the driver but act 45 says different.Whats legal?Whats right? Why drive thru a busy town with lights on having people almost cause other accidents when your taking in a ankle fracture?

No. Unless a pt has an unstabilized life threatening injury, or delayed transport would be detrimental to the pt. The MICU treating a pt does not automatically dictate the need for lights and sirens to the Hospital either. It is based on pt condition. No need for unnecessary danger that the lights pose to you, your crew and the public.
