First of all is the box assignment in non-hydrant area or hydrant area. In most of my county a box assignment in a hydrant area is 5 engines (1 engine 2in/2out), 2 trucks, 1 squad. Non-hydrant area 5 engines (1 engine 2in/2out), 2 trucks, 1 squad and 4 tankers. It is also the equipment and staffing in your area. We work on a grid system base on mileage. This goes all the way to the 8th alarm. I hope this helps. Mike
