My name is Shawn MacIntyre, I am a Firefighter/EMT with Etna fire dept. across the Allegheny river from Pittsburgh PA.
I am looking for anyone who has information on starting a firefighting museum. Mainly what type of ordeals did you have to go through to get started, who did you get help from , etc.
Also if you are from Pittsburgh or the area, and have some interest in doing the same thing here, please drop me a line. I'd like to get moving on this soon.
those who do not learn history are condemned to repeat it.

There's a Brookhaven Town Vollie's Museum in Ridge, (Long Island) NY. About 5 years old. My dad's the treasurer and one of the founders.
I'm at work, so I don't have any info on me. E-mail me so that I remember, and I will snail mail you and e-mail you info.

We have a great museum in Philadelphia, considering this is where if all happen with Ben Franklin and the gang.
The person you need to contact at our museum is:
FireFighter Harry Magee
147 North Second Street
Philadelphia, Pa. 19106
Phone # - 215-923-1438
He's the curator, and does a great job.

If that doesn't work, try web links under this page and look for International Association of Fire Chiefs. On the left hand side (yellow column) is the list of topics and Fire Museums is under it! Good luck.
