I'm just curious to know something. It seems to me that there have be an awful lot of FF's dying in the first 6 mos. of the year, whether in fires or not. Have I only noticed this because of this web-site? Or is this the norm, per say?

Diane,
There has been a lot of discussion on this subject here and on other sites. To be honest, I'm not sure. The web has certainly contributed to more info on LODD's getting out. In the past it seemed you only heard about the multiple fatalities. Whatever the case is, it certainly has been a sad year for the fire service family.

Diane, There could be a relation to the number of deaths due to the higher number of fires that occur during the months of Jan., Feb and March. In my Dept. they are the busiest months of the year.
