    Question Wanna Chat?

Hey, Guys/Gals... Just had an idea, not sure if y'all have tried it before or not. Well, I think we should set up some times throughout the week (either every night, or one or two nights a week, etc.) that as many of us that are available could go to a chat server and have discussions, etc. I'm not sure if everyone's familiar with IRC (Internet Relay Chat) or not, but there are other chat resources. Let me know what you guys(gals too) think about this. In my opinion, it'd be great. There's been a few times that I've posted a message on here and gotten a reply within seconds, so I know I'm not the only one on here in the evenings.

Just let me know what you think... If we decide to do this, I could make up instructions for those of us that might still be new to the Internet.

    Catchy'all later...

Sounds like an idea...wonder how the webteam feels about it? I think Firehouse should provide a chat room, that'd be cool.

That would be nice. Perhaps then if we have differences, they can be settled live, not on a bulletin board.

Sounds like a good idea. It would be cool for firehouse.com to host it.

I meant to mention that in the original message... Guess I forgot. We can see if Firehouse.com would either set up some type of web-based chat (which would require a lot of time and possibly $$), or if they just want to set up a server (IRC) that we could connect to with programs like mIRC. Or, either way, they could set up the IRC server while they got the web-based setup completed.
WebTeam, if you're listening, let us know what you can do... or if it would be ok to use other means...

    Thanks!

Alright, I know I already spend enough time in a chat room. Why not make it someplace constructive. I don't know how the web team will respond to this but sounds good to me. Also if anyone is intrested Talkcity already has a couple of good chat rooms, they are resq and fireground. I spend most of my time in resq.

    Hey all,

We are currently working on developing a chat solution which hopefully will be online before the end of July or early August. We'll probably test out a few different ones online before deciding on a final one.

    Thanks and keep on talkin'

    Wink

    Snake,

They put it there for "Juniors" to ask why they put it there!

    ;-)

You will be promoted to "Veteran" status after you make a minimum number of posts.

    Thumbs up

    Trucky F/Missouri,
Thanks for the info. I guess the question really reveals my rookie status on this thing. Cant wait for firehouse to do a chat room. Im a rookie in this thing and I just moved from volunteer status to full time career. So I really am a rookie in the true sense of the word.
Do you know how I can change my password on this thing? I read the dir. and attempted it but nothing happened O wise-one veteran.
    Snake.

At the top of this page, just under "Post New Reply", there is a link - "profile"

Click that and enter your current username & password... then it will allow you to change your password, e-mail address, etc.

    Hope that helps...

And once again, Be safe & God Bless!

Hey, I've checked out the chatroom and talked with a few people...some have a problem with staying connected. I don't know why. Why was the Forums page changed?

    Hey BigJohn,
Looks like they took your idea and ran with it. The new chat room seems pretty good so far. Thanks for the idea.
