    Talking intro

Hello, My name is Mike LaChappelle. I've been in the fire service for 29 years. I have been an officer since 1977 and was chief of the Coventry Fire Department in Coventry CT from 1981 to 1998. I currently serve as deputy chief. On Wednesday evening March 15, 2000 after attending a full evolution scott training session, I was taken to the hospital feeling quite ill. I was diagnosed with a blood clot in a secondary coronary artery. I crashed in the ER within 8 minutes after arrival with a BP of 60/0. I was treated with TPA at the emergency room and hospitalized for 5 days for testing. I am happy to say I suffured no cardiac muscle damage and will be returning to full duty in the next 3 to 6 weeks. An angiagram and nuclear strees test showed no damage to the heart was suffered. I will be 47 in June.
