I was just wondering how many departments are either replacing or starting out with new leather boots. My Career department is now replacing its older rubber boots with leather and I think it's great. Soon we will only have leathers in the department. There is not many departments here doing this. Lots of people own there own but no other department buys leather for all there fire fighters. Let me know if this is out of the ordinary or not. Thanks for the input

We have had several memebers purchase their own leather boots -- dept covered half the cost. Two of them have had problems with the soles seperating (after about 2.5 years or so). I love mine and won't wear anything else -- except for hazmat scenes.
