Hello:
I am currently writing a book about the death of the fire fighters in Worcester.
What I am looking for in the chance to talk to fire fighters about LODD and also about the brotherhood.
I know from my perspective of being married to a fire fighter, who retired and is director of Fire Science at Del Mar College here in Corpus.
My family has four generations in the fire service.
Please if you are willing to interview I would really appreciate it.
Thanks
Jan Thieme

Dear Jan,
We would be glad to help you in any way we can.
We are authors of the newly released book, "The Heart Behind the Hero" which is a collection of heartwarming and inspirational firefighter stories from across America. Along with heartwarming true stories and essays by firefighters across the country, our book includes a "Tribute to Our Fallen" and "Roll of Honor" listing all fallen firefighters as recognized by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (including the six firefighters who lost their lives in Worcester).
Co-author Curt Yoder, a twenty-five-year veteran firefighter, also comes from a family of firefighters including his father, John A. Yoder, who died in the line of duty in 1983. Curt is also an active volunteer with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and assists with escorting families each year at the Memorial Ceremony in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
We strongly support all those wishing to bring to light the courage, heroism and sacrifices of our fellow brothers and sisters. We would be happy to participate in the interview process for your book ... and help out in any way we can.
We wish you much success with your research ... and with your book.
Sincere regards,
Curt & Karen Yoder

I'd be happy to give you any information I could. I've worked for a paid Dept. for 11 yrs. I had the honor of being able to attend the Worcester Safety and Training Seminar in Sept. The Worcester tragedy has impacted the fire service as a whole.

Jan,
If you would like a perspective from a FF rookie, with a new wife I would be glad to be of assistance. Being newly married and aggresive can have some conflicts. It is a different view.

How about keeping it even nationwide. Afew from all the regions of this great land of ours. I'll be happy to represent the greatest region of all, Gods great Southland. (Ain't Texas kinda considered a region all on it's own?) Lemme know how I can help!
