nyfdaughter, Hello back at ya! I'm also new to the forum. I was an FDNY Auxiliary with Brooklyn's Ladder 132 from 1968 to 1975 and while we didn't run in with 229 I knew of them. I am now a captain with the Porter (Texas) Vol. Fire Dept. and am really trying to "yankee-ize" them.
How do you like being "down south"? I've been in the Houston area now for about 10 years. As far as firefighting is concerned, they sure do things differently down here. For one thing, they don't do "truck work" here like we did in FDNY.
