If you are interested in seeing that a Memorial be placed at Ground Zero, without commercial buildings, please go to:

In as much as I understand that replacing the towers would show our defiance and strength, I also feel that by turning the grounds into a memorial would show our enemies how much value and respect the Western Culture has for human life. Even without the towers, we have proved our strength! We gave the terrorists a hint of it!

I have tried to get the support team of Petition Online to let me edit the petition, but they have a policy to not allow any editing for fear of legal ramifications from those that signed the original petition.
Today, I realize many people were 'heroic' that day. Many of the people that worked inside the towers were as well.
I am a retired EMT-P from Bucks County, so I can empathize with you, and how you must feel not seeing any mention of EMT's.
My heart was in the right place at the time, but I guess my brain wasn't."

Thank you for your support!
This petition will be hand delivered to Mayor Bloomberg's office, Governor Pataki's office, and when I find the name and address of the planning committee for the former WTC site, they will also receive a hand delivered copy. Plans to deliver the petition will be March 11, exactly 6 months to the day.

I signed your petition also, I was all for rebuilding until I read the post by logs.
In my post I asked the question, "If we can't build on a centuries old burial ground, how can you even think of building on this one?"
It may not be an actual burial ground, but if you take into consideration they are buried there for now and hopefully not much longer, it comes into perspective to me anyway as a burial ground and should not be built on.Proud to be IACOJ Illinois Chapter--Deemed "Crustworthy" Jan, 2003

mff:
Thank you for your support.
What most people have yet to realize, is that while a few hundred families have 'remains' to bury in a place of their choosing, many do not, so in fact, this istheir cemetary.
We must not forget, that so many of the lost, were from many other countries as well, and never to be returned to their homeland.
In a real sense, the former WTC site is now a "Cemetary of the World."

.....#1252 on the list.
I think we have to rebuild the World Trade Center but not in the same location. That location had become sacred ground.

Does this property actually belong to the City? Or is it owned by a private or public firm? I think this is owned by someone other than the City of New York. In any event, you will never please everyone. This will probably end up in the courts for years, look at the statue controversy. There IS a Memorial there: A giant CROSS torn from the steel of one of the towers and placed in the rubble by the hand of God Himself. Wait until the ACLU starts that fight.
The Heroes' Cross, helping to keep the promise .......... to 'never forget'. Dedicated to the 343 FDNY heroes, donated to their families. God Bless.
