For those of you who constently travel I suggest you purchase a cell phone in case you come across a fire or car wreck. I've already come across one.

I have called local PD's numerous times to report numerous MVA's and wire down. My friend has actually called in a working house fire!

A cell phone is good to have for juniors that may be responding after school or while they may be out during the weekend. It is a good idea to call home if you arrive on scene and you are going to be there a while (MVA standby, working fire, etc). This way when you do not arrive home on time, your parents will know why. Another good idea is to keep the firehouse phone number posted at home, for the same reason.
