    Question How many ranks?

How many ranks does your cadet/explorer/jr post have? We have only four. They are cadet, 2nd Lt, 1st Lt, and Captain.

Our post only has one rank other than Explorer and that is Lieutenants. We have room for 21 explorers, so we divided in to three different "shifts", each with it's own Lieutenant and seven explorers.

On my department we have three ranks: explorer,Captain/president,Lieutenant/vice
Lieutenent/treasurer,and Lieutenant/ secratary.I'm considering running vice, but I really wish it was a captian's position so I could pick on one of my "big kid"lieutenant buddies with the excuse of "I out rank you"

    Red face

We have no ranks. We are just the Juniors. We are otherwise the lowest thing on the force, but it's great.

    Cool

We have about 12 members in our junior ranks. There are no ranks among us, except, "Riding Status" or "Non-Riding Status." Which basicly means if you are qualified to ride out on responding apparatus.

in my station there is a total of five junior firefighters. i was just handed down Jr. Chief being that the past one turned 18. then under me i have 1 Jr. Dept. Chief, 1 Jr. Asst. Chief, 1 Jr. Captain, 1 Jr. Lieutenant. basically everyone has a postion now, since we've lost 3 active members.

LOL@ junior positions. They mean nothing. They are to get you ready for the real ego trip you will have once you gain the positions as a senior ranking officer. Our station policy says that you're a junior until you're eighteen and accepted as a senior member. No exceptions, every station has /-\ss kissers though

I recently posted my posts' ranks as Chief, Captain, 1st.Lt/Secretary,2nd.Lt/Treasurer, and Explorer. However, our post will soon be passing a resolution in our by-laws, to change ranks to Chief, Asst. Chief, Captain/Secretary, Lt/Treasurer, and Explorer. Just a little update for you guys.

    To Engineer64,
If you think that it means nothing then you also must not understand the term "TEAMWORK". Ever since we started these positions last year it has helped us function as a whole better. We are able to make sure the newer juniors that just join are able to distinguish who has the most experiance, and training. It also makes sure that our duties are done. Such as the weekly cleaning duties. If you think it only gives you an echo trip for when you become a senior officer then don't you think you should be trying to do something to change that and not sit there and complain or make comments. Just some food for thought!
