    Post Warning Lights in Alabama

    Does anybody know any of the laws against warning lights in alabama...What you can and cant use.

    Also If you have them and live in alabama what do you have on your POV!

    If you have a link to the laws can you please provide it ASAP....THANKS

    Here is a link to the Code of Alabama that should help you. http://www.legislature.state.al.us/CodeofAlabama/1975/coatoc.htm My understanding is that only authorized emergency vehicles may use lighting other than that which was original factory installed. I believe only the Director of Public Safety or your municipal police chief may authorize any vehicle as an emergency vehicle. I know a lot of FFs in Alabama who run red lights on their personal vehicles, but they are only using them on the side of the roadway when the vehicles are stopped. I would think that when you begin to try and use them to affect traffic you would be asking for trouble.
