FF/ survivors death benfits
The situation is like this. Last week one of my Firefighters died. It wasn't line of duty, he wasn't retired (30 years old). We are a volunteer dept. He was with my dept. four months and served with a vol. dept. just south of us for several years. He was married (24hrs.) had a couple children from a previous marriage. We did the best we could to help his wife & family. My question is, are there any kind of benefits for his family in any form that we can apply for and make sure happens properly? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
By the way this man was buried in Elk City, Oklahoma. Very far from our location in Northwest Arkansas. Many, many thanks to the Elk City Fire Department for sending a few of their people to the funeral service to represent the Fire Service in our absence.
Thanks and be safe, Frank
