On 6-1-01, Warn Industries issued a safety bulletin regarding their 2000lb winch kits that contained a White-Rodgers solenoid. Apparently these winches are used for ATV's only. The bulletin does not specifically state what the mal-function is but does advise that "These fires have occurred when the vehicles were parked and the winches were not being used."

I recently investigated a fire loss involving a Honda ATV equipped with the White-Rodgers solenoid. Does anyone have any information as to the exact problem the solenoid has? Is it internal or a problem at the connection? Any information received will be appreciated.
