Just curious to see what type of pump do you prefer, single stage or 2 stage. What are your reasons for your choice?
Thanks

Two stage for versitility, single stage for simplicity, It's harder to teach them when to go from pressure to volume

I would stick with the single stage. Fewer parts and easier operation.
If the pump is NFPA rated, then it is rated for capacity at 150 psi and half capacity at 250 psi. This is the same rating for either a single stage or two stage pump.
The difference is in the engine. The newer diesel engines have the HP and torque to allow a single impeller to meet the NFPA rating. Older gas engines needed the two stages because they didn't have that power.
Just my $.02 worth.
