    Default FLASHOVER SIMULATOR?

Does anyone know of a department that built a flashover simulator using a old railroad boxcar? If so can anyone forward information to me? Thank you in advance for your help!!!

I believe that Boston Fire was looking to make their own flashover simulator. I haven't heard of anyone making one from an old boxcar. The ones I have seen where made from shipping containers carried on tractor trailers, with the addition of interior insulation and metal panels.

    Hope this helps.

Gaston College in North Carolina recently got a simulator. Their information can be found at www.gastonfire.com.

I have heard of building them from boxcars, but most of them are the freight shipping containers with insulation panels.

    Good Luck!

I know Oakland Community College in Michigan has a flash over simulator..It's pretty cool. I'm not sure what it's made out of but their web site is www.occ.cc.mi.us You might be able to get more information from there. Hope it helps!
