I was told that a TIC could be used for locating drowning/drowned victims. The reason behind this was due to the oils in the body. When the oil floats to the top, it is possible for it to leave a trail to the person. I know that this can differ with the temp. of the water and the size of the body of water, but I was wanting to know if anyone has really tried this, heard of this being done, or has thought of this. Any info will be appreciated.![]()

The amount of "oils" given off by a body will be so diluted in water to be useless.
Also, a TIC detects temperature, not oil. So unless the temperature of the oil is enough different from the surrounding water, you will never see it.The above is MY OPINION only and not that of anyone else. I am not representing any organization in making a post here!!!!
