The Oakbank - Balhannah Country Fire Service brigade is located in the Onkaparinga Valley in the Adelaide Hills of
South Australia - about 40 km from Adelaide. We are situated on the Main Road in Balhannah.
We have 50 volunteer members, and control an area of about 400 km². Anything outside our area is covered by other brigades in our Onkaparinga Group: Woodside CFS, Lobethal CFS and Lenswood/Forrest Range CFS.
We have three appliances at our disposal:
Balhannah 14: 1000 Litres, 4WD (Ford F350)
Balhannah 24: 2000 Litres, 4WD (Hino)
Balhannah 34: 3000 Litres, 4WD (Hino)
Typical incidents we repond to are:
1.Fires - Rural Grass Fires, Bush Fires Structure / House / Factory / Shed Fires
HAZMAT Hazardous Material / Chemical Spill Decontamination
Vehicle Accidents
Natural Disaster - Storm Damage / Flooding
Our station consists of 1 captain, 4 lieutenants, 5 senior FF and the remainder are all FF.
