Maugansville Goodwill Volunteer Fire Company Station 13, Maugansville Md.
The Maugansville Goodwill Volunteer Fire Company proudly serves a population of 12,000 in a 20-25 square mile area. We are a volunteer fire company with presently 40 active firefighters. We operate out of 1 station and have a total of 8 pieces of apparatus listed below.
Engine 132: 1987 Seagrave "The Dreamsicle"
Engine 131: 1980 Ford / E-One
Tanker 13: 1974 "R" Model Mack
Squad 13: 1980 GMC Step Side Van.... soon to be replaced with a 1999 Pierce Saber with a 16 foot non walk-in box. It has roll up doors the whole way around, and a cab with seating for 6 firefighters, among other things. We except delivery in early October.
Brush 13: 1977 Dodge Pickup with a 1992 Skid unit... also to be replaced soon due to being wrecked on the way to a tire fire.
Command 13: 1992 Chevrolet Suburban
Car 13: 1984 Chevrolet Caprice
and last but not least.... "The 28'" a 1928 Model AA Ford... first fire apparatus in our town.
The Maugansville Goodwill Volunteer Fire Company Station 13 ran a total of 552 calls for the year 1998, thus far this year we are at 408. We also house a Medic Unit from Community Rescue Service in our station and most of our firefighters are also members of the ambulance company. The ambulance ran approx. 1000 call for 1998.
