Brown County Volunteer Fire Department protects approx 100+ square miles in rural southern Indiana. Our department has 24 volunteers, two pumper/tankers, one multi-purpose pickup, one brush truck, and a chief's blazer that fills in the gaps. We have a full time population of about 1500 and an influx population of 4-5 million (yes, million). We have approx 200 runs a year that are made up of first responder and fire. We are working to become BLS non-transport this October 1999. If you want to know more just repond to this posting. Thanks and stay safe Matt, Asst. Chief
