    Exclamation Monroeville Fire Department

    monroeville fire department is located 15 miles east of the city of pittsburgh, allegheny county, pennsylvania. we are a large all volunteer organization that is proud to have approx, 150 - 200 firefighters and most being emt's or paramedics.

    there are 5 seperate fire companies with individual charters and operate on there own internally. the department works as one department on the fireground.

    we have a successful live in program. we have approx. 5- 10 ff/emt's live ins that help operate the stations with the support of the home response. we have several local paramedic programs, many universities, and a local fire science program in the community college.

    the department responds to approx. 6000 calls annually. 4000 ems and 2000 fire.
    we are responsible for 25 square miles and 40,000 residents. we have a transient population of 200,000+ daily. our municipality is a mixture of industrial, retail, office, and residential.
    we are also responsible for a large portion of I376 and pa turnpike I76

    the department operates the following equipment

    st. 1

    e11 alf, 2000 gpm
    e12 seagrave
    rescue 1 mack/new lexington, air and rescue support
    m18
    m19
    both are als units

    st. 2 closed in the 50's

    st. 3

    e31 spartan/quality
    r3 - mini pumper/rescue support/qrs
    c32 - ldv command vehicle used by 911 center for back up, fire , ems ,police emergencies and mutual aid multi alarm incidents

    st. 4

    e41 pierce lance
    e42 e-one cyclone
    r4 e-one cyclone heavy rescue
    t4 pierce/lti ladder tower
    medic 47
    medic 48
    medic 49
    all als units

    st. 5

    e51 e-one cyclone, rescue support
    e52 e-one hush, rescue support
    t-5 e-one hurricane 135' ladder
    m58
    m59
    both als units

    st. 6

    e-61 e-one/quality
    e-62 spartan/quality-foam pumper
    r-6 heavy rescue/salvage unit/minor collapse
    m69 als unit

    all stations have squad/utilities & chief vehicle for chief officers

    all officers are also volunteer
